The New Zealand Bloggers Union Supports VSM - for your own good

The NZBU loves compulsion. We love it that we represent all of you lovely bloggers no matter what you believe in. We are excited that because you write a blog you automatically become members of our union. It's so simple.

Of course that means we are against other unions that think they can represent you. Trade unions and student unions especially. Lots of students blog and have twitter and Facebook, which we define as a type of blogging too. You might not know this but we represent almost ALL of New Zealands internet users.
We don't like competition so we will be supporting Voluntary Membership of Student Unions so that you can only be members of our union and we can do our job representing you without all those pretender unions getting in the way.

The NZBU has polled members such as Whale Oil, Jordan Carter and Malcolm Harbrow and blogs such as The Standard, The Hand Mirror and Kiwiblog and the findings show our members are enthusiastic about protecting their compulsory membership of their blog union. Simply by posting regularly is enough evidence that we are desperately needed in the blogosphere, after all...if you didn't want to be a member you don't have to blog.

The annual NZBU elections will be held over the next week or so - all nominations for the executive can be left in the comments field.

Yours in solidarity

Confusion

Given the current confusing political environment, we at the NZBU understand that our members may be confused about who to vote for.

There are only 4 main parties in New Zealand:

Nationalabour - a collection of similar minded politicians who change their policies to keep themselves in power.

Greens - Watermelons with a few vegetables.

Maori Party - Ex radicals slowly realising that hating Whitey were years badly spent.

ACT - Low tax party that encourages lower Government spending and more money in our back pockets.

The NZBU feel from this analysis that we will be supporting only one party this year and as we are a large grouping of compulsory members, we will be able to represent you our members for the elections one one true voice. After all, as we are compulsory - we have the right to speak on all your behalf. No matter your political opinions!

Stupid Names and Cyclones

I'm sure you would have all heard of the kiwi kids with retarded and cruel names such as Talula does the Hula from Hawaii, Hitler, Violence and XB Falcon.

Thankfully parents are no longer able to give their offspring such cruel yet comical names, but I would like to draw your attention to another kind of naming abuse - cyclones.

Ah, cyclones. The tyrants of the skies. I wonder, would they be so violent and dangerous if we didn't give them such silly names?

This sounds stupid, I know but a few examples might change your mind: Cristobal, Humberto, Claudette.

I don't know about you, but just hearing these names makes me want to pick up a cow and throw it through a house.

Maybe for a year we could do an experiment - instead of giving cyclones loser names like Sebastien, we could give them cool names like Cyclone Batman or Cyclone Guitar Solo and see if the storms become less dangerous.

Maybe we could even tame them and direct them towards our enemies, reducing costs and casualties in the War on Terror to a bare minimum as Cyclones are very fuel efficient.

I hope this post has made you think about the consequences of giving retarded names to not only human children but also Cyclones, and the potential benefits of giving Cyclones cool names.

Now I look to the dark skies to the North and pray that Cyclone Obi Wan Kenobi will be happy he has a cool name and leave us alone.

NZBU offers honarary membership for anybody who can find Omar Hamed a job

Today the NZBU has offered any person life membership if they can find AUSA student flunkie Omar Hamed a job.

After todays story that he is encouraging students to "citizens arrest" United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for a reward of £5000, we wonder what exactly Omar was smoking.

AUSA still behaves like a compulsory union and spends students/taxpayers monies without any regard for its members of commonsense. Further on that point, the NZBU questions Omars job prospects after he graduates - and will offer a generous reward for anybody who can find this student politician a job.

Student politicians with the "pedigree" of Omar need as much help as they can to shake off the shackles of long time bludging off the taxpayers and anything that can encourage Omar to stop wasting students time is welcomed.

Story here.

Kiwiblog post here.

The NZBU is proud to be representing ALL NZ Bloggers for the 1008 election. For more information or to discuss please leave a message in the comments field.

Why we represent you

It is a simple concept, not all bloggers are able to stand up for themselves to fight against evil politicans, poverty or everyday issues.

This is why compulsion is so important. You need representation. Some more than others. We have compiled a list of members who need the most help in order for other members to be able to support them:

Tane/Neale Jones
Robinsod/Mike Porton
Jordan Carter
Tony Milne
IrishBill/Rob Egan
Rob Salmond
all_your_base/Chris Elder
Frog Blog
I/S - No Right Turn
Jafapete
Chris Hipkins
Russell Brown
Bomber
Brenden Sheehan
Maia
Roger nome
Sonic
The Hand Mirror

This list isn't exhaustive, however it does highlight the vast range of opinions and political viewpoints that we have inside the Union. These people are all supporters of compulsion so are unable to opt out under the NZBU constitution.

When we decide our political direction we will announce it to the membership and will issue press releases on behalf of all our members. No dissenting voices will be counted nor will opposing viewpoints.

It is our great pleasure to represent you.

A New Member

Hello, everyone. The New Zealand bloggers union website now has two contributors, meaning plenty of representation for everybody.

This blog will surely give some room for non-party specific political debate, as well as a sense of belonging which was sadly lacking in the New Zealand blogosphere before this.

We hope you like the site!

We are back!

After several months plotting away in our cave, the New Zealand Bloggers Union is back and we intend on fighting the 2008 election.

If you are reading this and are a blogger based in or from New Zealand, then you are automatically a member. No matter your political persuasion, you are all members and we will be YOUR voice for Election 2008 and we will be YOUR voice for any other issue that takes our fancy. There is an objection clause if you choose to not take up membership but you will need to apply to the NZBU HQ and we will decide each case by merit - but who would want to leave when you will have a collective voice against the evil forces during election time.

Top Reasons why membership to the NZBU must be compulsory:

1) We need to be compulsory so that we represent every blogger. If we were fragmented we could not claim to represent all bloggers and would lose our voice!

2) It needs to be compulsory because we provide services to our members and cannot have freeloaders.

3) Paying levies is just like paying taxation. We provide services just like a government does. You cannot opt out of paying tax just like you cannot opt out of paying levies.

4) If membership was voluntary, nobody will join and everybody will lose out.

5) The vibrant blogging community would die out if we didn't have a compulsory bloggers union.

Remember - membership is compulsory, and if you don't like it, nobody forces you to run a blog :)

We will be asking for people to join the team here at the NZBU, and first of all I'd like to welcome our Campaigns Officer, Global Citizen. Our Campaigns officer will speak on issues of the day which broadly represents every member of our union. If you want to join the team, please email me, or leave your details in the comments box below.

The NZBU will speak for and on behalf of bloggers like Jordan Carter, Tony Milne, The Standard, Robinsod, 08wire, No Right Turn, Jafapete, Sonic, Frog Blog, Public Address as well as other bloggers from all political persuasions.

We look forward to representing you!

Love - President Loudmouth
